Sunny day, but cool in the shade on the trail going up in the morning. Some patches of snow near the summit. Great views, and hearing the rushing water in the canyon was a beautiful sound to enjoy during the hike. About mile 4 going up, the elevation increases and you can feel it more intensely in your legs. As you near the summit, if you stay to your right, you will notice the narrow trail up the hill through the snow. The trail is a fun route, but there are many areas of patchy snow in the shade, and some downed trees you will have to work around. The dirt service road to the left is the alternate route and takes you toward the large antenna towers near the summit.
