Very sunny, beautiful wildflowers. My favorites were the showy penstemon and the baby blue eyes. There were some amazing California lilacs closer to the summit. There were quite a few flies and bees in the bench resting areas. We spotted a rattle snake and some other hikers spotted a bear. There is only one rocky part in the trail that makes me nervous due to my acrophobia but overall the trail is secure and in good condition.
