Solo trip up to Mt Wilson from Eaton Canyon today. This was a makeup hike since last December I attempted this route only to find the trail was closed to rockslide cleanup just after the winter creek junction. Today I saw more evidence of rockslides. The first one about half a mile before the winter creek junction created a talus field of loose rock to be traversed. The second just after the junction blocked most of the trail and pushes to path to the very most edge in a short but exposed section. There is solid footing but definitely take it nice and slow. The two red pins on the map mark these areas. Lots of people on the trail today, walkers, dog walkers, hikers, runners, bikers, a hiking dog, but best of all other Peak Challengers! I had the pleasure of meeting Karen and Kevin who were on their first peak today. Keep it up you guys, your journey will take you to some incredible places. Hopefully we will run into each other again sometime and I especially encourage everyone to join us again this year for the Climb for Heros in November. Keep on hiking on.
