The weather was perfect for my January conditioning hike to Mt. Wilson. As part of the Wilderness Travel Course, the conditioning hike allows the instructors to assess the physical fitness of WTC students around the beginning of the 10-week course. I was assigned to the WTC West LA Group 1 but due to scheduling conflicts, I had to join Group 3 for their conditioning hike instead (it would have been Mt. Lowe if I went with Group 1). I have never gone to Mt. Lowe and would have wanted to go there, but this hike to Mt. Wilson jumpstarted my quest to take on the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge again in 2018 (my third year doing it).
