Didn't realize there was a trail race planned that day that had closed the trail from 6am to 11pm. Volunteer was nice enough to let me on the trail provided I could pass the race turn-around point by 7:30. Slow and steady up the mountain, perfect weather and a nice climb. Had a sandwhich and a coke at the top and hoofed it on back down. Just over 7 miles moving time round trip for a ~14.5mi hike.
Watch out for bats in the bathroom!
