Great start to the socal six-pack peaks challenge. Started at the Chantry Flats Trailhead around 7:45PM on Sunday. It was a clear and crisp morning, a little chilly so had to wear a puffy jacket and beany hat to keep warm. Took a short detour to check out the Sturtevant Falls.About an hour into the hike had to take off the jacket and settled for a long shirt and a baseball cap for the rest of the hike. Mike Coulter and I have both signed up for the six-pack peak challenge together this year. We completed the hike to the top of the mountain in a little over 3 hours. It was a great hike with a pretty steady and steep uphill altitude gain, scenic all through and almost in perfect weather, We took some refreshments at the top and explored around the telescopes and were on our back down to our car parked at Chantry flats completing the 14 mile loop in under 6 hours. It was great start ti the six-pack peak challenge. Looking forward to the Cucamonga Peak hike #2 in the March!
