Despite being the lowest mountain in the challenge, this hike was grueling. I ended up missing the actual trail and followed the Mt Wilson Toll Road up. I was greeted with the gate to the observatory closed and locked with no way to get around. Had to double back and make my way up the actual trail. This part was covered in ice the entire way up, as well was the summit, so I recommend using your crampons. On the way back down myself and another group of hikers discovered a tree that had fallen across a portion of the trail 3/4 of the way up while we were at the summit. Luckily you can get around it! Ended up doing 16.5 miles and just over 5200 feet of elevation gain!
