I got in this hike today just in time, as it was announced that the trail will be closing tomorrow due to the threat of storms.
We started our hike under chilly, but sunny skies. The closer we got to the summit, the clouds began rolling in. By the time we reached the top we were in the fog. You couldn't even see the Observatory from the area with the summit signs. The trail was busy with hikers and trail runners. I think everyone was trying to get in some exercise before the storm.
On our way back down we stopped by First Water and explored Lost Canyon and discovered the Old Gauging Station. I never knew this existed. It was beautiful down there!
It was a perfect day to be on the trail enjoying nature!
