I was planning to hike the Chantry Flat trail but found out that the road is closed due to past fires. I reverted to hiking the “official” Mt Wilson Trail that starts in a residential neighborhood in Sierra Madre. I started early (5:50 AM) and a hiker warned me to set the car wheels towards the curb because the local police gives tickets to offenders.
The hike was eventless. Sadly, towards the top, the trail hits some of the burned area. At the top, the observatory is still closed. On the way down the trail was quite busy. Back to the car after 1PM.
