First of my Peaks completed.
I arrived at the Chantry Flat car park around 6am and it was still pitch black so I waited till first light and started down the trail at 645am.
I was informed this is a popular park and trail but on a Tuesday at that time I saw no one till I reached the summit at 11am.
The trail has plenty of fallen trees and debris that make for small inconvenience.
No snow at all till you reach the summit around the observatory but it was still plenty cold at times.
The summit was better than I what I had prepared for based on what I read but that must mean the rest are even more spectacular.
I saw a lot more people on the way down and I was back to my car by 400pm.
