4/29/2023. Started off on a cooler side but as soon as we were above the clouds, the heat quickly intensified. Lots of people on the trail as expected on a Saturday. Drank a lot. Cosmic Cafe was open but no ice cream treats on the menu today (and that was all we were thinking to get as soon as we summit, haha). We took time to rest & even stole a quick nap at the Cafe. We started our descent a little past 3 PM & boy did it make a big difference with the temp cooling off & sun moving away from our path! Wildflowers blooming everywhere. Intense hike but doable & greatly felt accomplished.
