I chose to summit Mt Wilson via the Mount Wilson Trail park. Arrived at the park at 0635 and was able to get a close parking spot. It is in a residential neighborhood so I made sure to be respectful with noise. I started recording the track at my car with GAIA GPS.
The trail is beautiful, well-maintained, and fairly sustained throughout in terms of difficulty. There were a few hikers on the trail but it wasn't crowded and often found myself alone through the majority of the hike until reaching Manzanita Ridge where I ran into quite a few hikers coming from Chantry Flats.
It was also very fun hiking through the clouds when nearing Manzanita Ridge. A very cool experience! The views near the summit, before you reach civilization again at the parking lot, are absolutely stunning!
the summit is a bit anti-climatic as it tops out at a parking lot; however, I did enjoy and refuel on the hikers special, a jumbo dog, and small coffee at the cafe before heading back down the mountain.
Total time from leaving my car to returning was ~6 hours.
One peak down, five to go! Happy Hiking all!
