We started this trail Sunday morning around 9:30am and noticed immediately how thick the morning mist was. Using this to our advantage, we quickly began our long arduous climb. The trail is very well marked and a fairly easy ascent. I also noticed many dogs on this trail (and many of them little). In fact, near the top, I encountered two small Chihuahuas that past me on their descent as if to let me know, if they can do it, I can do it! Mt. Woodson Trail is a great workout and the views are gorgeous. As we got toward the top, we slowly rose above the mist and was in awe of the clouds above and thick mist below. I took many photos with my gopro!
My only complaint about this hike is that it's a popular photo destination. There was a huge crowd waiting in line to take photos on Potato Chip Rock. I get it, it's a cool shot. But, I wasn't interested in the 20 minute wait and instead took a photo on a boulder nearby that I affectionately called Tater Tot Rock. Good. Enough. Peak 1 Conquered!
