We started the hike at pantole campground around 7:30 am. The parking was easily available at that time. The hike started with old fire road and it was a pretty easy hike up for almost 4 mile until we thought of making to exciting and took the fern trail which resulted in Massive elevation gain in short period. The fern hike had lots of steps and steep gains plus the trail was not much width. The hike was very well managed with maps available  at start and multiple routes to the top. The view at the top was amazing and able to see San Francisco and mount diablo. Overall a fun hike with friends.
