Conquered mummy mountain, the hike is strenuous mostly from just below the beginning of the scree field as you approach 10,000 foot elevation. Recent rains had the trail dust free. Hiked this mountain once before and was dreading the scree field. Fortunately the rain has left the area much firmer and easier to climb as the rocks did not slip beneath you nearly as much as usual. Followed others advice and stayed to the right where the less loose rocks. On the way down we even had found some semblance of a trail on hikers left. At the base of the cliffs just before the summit, we detoured from the trail and scrambled up a crevice with a large fallen tree with no bark which involved some rock climbing for about 25 yards.
