Whooo! After not hiking for the last 2 1/2 months due to schedule this was quite a challenge. We started at Manker Flats and decided to do the loop counter clockwise. I summited Baldy about 5 years ago so knew what to expect with the route up to the Devils Backbone, but the Ski Hut trail was a new adventure.
We were a bit nervous about the descent hearing about how steep it was but felt good when we reached the top so figured we’d be good to go. But boy oh boy is that descent a knee buster! ???? It was a beautiful route, though, and I’m still undecided if up or down would be more torturous!
