The weather was a chill 60 degrees, give or take. We both wore light layers and were very comfortable. It was pretty sunny out, though, so we made sure to wear eyewear and UV protective layers. There were still quite a few blankets of snow as you got higher up toward the peak. This made the ground around it wet and muddy. We also had to navigate around the snowy areas which decreased pace and increased moving time, but it was not too bad. This was my first hard hike. I usually did easy to medium hikes, so the challenge was welcomed and only made me feel that much better once I completed it. We encountered another peak part of the way through and it was just as beautiful.
