Hike Log

My first of the 6 pack — Mt. Wilson!

Trailhead:

Winter Creek

Trail Conditions:

ROAD:

Bugs:

Snow:

I always heard Wilson was a bit anticlimactic… well, when we reached the summit, and couldn't see literally ANYTHING — I kind of felt that way, too. Literally — fog, fog, fog!

However, as the fog started to burn off (after about 40 minutes of being at the summit, waiting for the rest of our group to arrive) — I kind of started to see a little bit of magic.

I liked how the fog/clouds were fighting each other and the impending blue sky.. it was kind of neat to watch that transformation.

As for the hike itself, it was OK. I'm saying OK because I went in with no expectations.

I'm not sure how the other trails compare to the Winter Creek Trail… but I thought it was pretty easy. Again — could have just been a GREAT hiking day for my body…

I know for many this may seem like a “one and done,” but I would like to try it again from a different trail head.
