Got to the state park in the afternoon. Started the hike around 3. My trusty umbrella kept me cool enough. The change in rock/ terrain was surprising. The boulder climbing was no joke. More about the distance than the actual climbing. People we met kept telling us, just stay left. The only right is by the cave. The shade at this point helped a lot. We were lucky to have found an alternate to climbing the wall. The sun was setting when we reached the top so we made a run for it.
The way down was scary under flashlights. Everything went well. Would like to do it again in the morning to enjoy it and not be rushed.
