Hi, everyone. Over the weekend, I hiked up Angelus Oaks to reach San Bernadino Peak. No mile markers were visible. Only a sign carved into a tree that showed San Bernadino Peak with a left arrow underneath the words. The other mentioned a picnic bench with an arrow pointed right below. It was only fitting that after one large group passed me going back down, after seeing this landmark called the Washington Monument, I didn't expect the trail to go into a y-shape. The monument was the closest I was to reaching the peak, and all I had to do was veer right. I stayed left, and I inadvertently passed the peak. I didn't realize that until finding a hiking couple coming up toward me. The male hiker had a working map on his phone, and he showed me I was a mile past the peak. Same map from the All Trails app, but I couldn't see from my phone because it was offline. After that exchange I reversed course and found the peak. All was forgiven. I was ecstatic. Don't get me wrong. I loved the features of the flowers, bushes, and trees. There were some flies, but they were working with nature. They played with the flowers and never bugged me at all. It was good weather for hike!
