What’s there not to enjoy about hiking Mt Washington? I’ll answer that one, all the drivers you meet at the top. This hike took 2/3 of my group 6 hrs to loop, as 1/3 decided to hitch their way down by shuttle due to fatigue, which is understandable due to them not being an avid hiker. We started later than expected, typical of us as we slept in and slow rolled it breaking down our campsite and getting some breakfast in us with the feeling of hiking NH’s tallest peak. I think I was the only one that had nerves of excitement building up. We opted to take the long route up via bootspur, but while up atop I had made my decision to summit Monroe as well and experience the lake of clouds. As my family went ahead crossing Davis path and up a section of tuckerman ravine, I found myself among several other people making our way up the Crawford path to reach Washington. No matter what there are always sprinters running down that you have to watch out for, the funny thing is that I never notice them on my way up. As I reached the peak and noticed the elevation change go straight to my head, I met up with my family in the cafe to find out I was only 30 minutes behind them, and thats with going the wrong direction 1/2 mi on davis path right off of bootspur. The view was like no other..no picture from any phone could capture what was before us. I didn’t know which direction was which but I could of walked around the summit for hours and still be in awe. After getting some calories in us and having enough of the wind in our face, it was time to make our descend. As mentioned before only myself and one other made it down by foot, and after seeing what tuckerman ravine held in store for everyone,  I completely understand. I had a love/hate relationship with tuckerman ravine, I most certainly would rather descend than ascend tuckerman but the view of it from both angles is quite remarkable. In the winter I would give it a shot at snowboarding down if I could make the effort of getting up there. After a hike like this you just want to be down and off your feet in an instant, that was not the case here. Soon enough we found ourselves meeting together at the parking lot all proud and tired after the day’s excursion. No bumper sticker was bought, just a patch to be added onto my rucksack
