Wow! I have hiked most of the big peaks in this area but I had never hiked San Bernardino Peak—loved this trail! With no snow in our local mountains five of us (four of whom are signed up for the Six Pack) decided to go after one of the bigger peaks before it gets snowed in.

The trail was in excellent condition and the climb up was one of the most gentle climbs I have ever experienced for a mountain at this altitude. And the views? AMAZING! We stopped often to take it all in! It was a beautiful day with perfect weather (30s and 40s and clear) and fun friends!

Fyi…the ranger had told us last Friday that there was water up past Limber Pines but when we got there it was all frozen. So if anyone is planning on going in the next few days don’t count on finding running water.
