Being on top of the tallest peak in Southern California @ 11,500’ for the 1st time in 2018 was a great blessing, especially trekking with others.

What caught my attention and kept me mesmerized was the view of the desert floor to the east, which houses the communities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Cathedral City, etc. and the summit of Mt San Jacinto.

Standing on Mt San Gorgonio I remember thinking to myself, “Dang Dave, you actually hiked from the desert floor to the summit of San Jacinto gaining 10,364’ of elevation; moreover, you did it 4x this year… wow!”
