I drove down to visit a friend for the weekend and made the stop in Poway to make the climb. This is my first hike of the year and the first of two six pack challenges I’ll complete this year. Started at 0800 at the trailhead and headed on up. Beautiful day that didn’t get warm until I started down from the top. As usual there was a line for the chip photo and, like last year I skipped it and headed on up to spend a little time amidst the towers at the top. Made quick work heading back down. All in all a nice hike and fewer people on the trail than last year. Good start to the hiking challenges.
