I parked and started my run a little before 7am. It was a cloudy morning in Montana de Oro, giving a cool eerie atmosphere to the run. The whole trail to the summit was extremely gradual, and I was able to run the whole way up. The trail was single track, bit it was very well maintained. It's clear that this trail was made for mountain bikers due to the grade and the various trail structures and formations along the trail. I summited Hazard 3 miles in. From the summit, I got great views of Morro Bay to the north, Valencia and Oats Peak to the south, and the ocean to the east. I was able to run  pretty quickly on the way down. This is when I started seeing a lot of mountain bikers. I finished the run in a little over an hour. This was a very cool and easy morning excursion compared to some of the other peaks in the central coast challenge.
