Got the last spot in the lot at 8:15am. Trail
was packed. We hiked counterclockwise and started climbing immediately. I am sure this was a lovely hike in April/May but in late August it was brown, dead and dusty. It was also extremely steep. While some of the views were nice, the quality of the trail combined with the vertical nature and dead foliage makes this a hike I doubt I will repeat. We did see a coyote so that was interesting. There was a line at the summit to take a picture at the pole marker.
