This was the toughest hike that I have ever done. The weather was perfect and the trail was long and steep! We chose to go up the Helon Taylor trail, across the Knife Edge and onto Baxter Peak. Our descent was down the Saddle Trail to Chimney Pond Campground and back to Roaring Brook Campground. We way underestimated our hiking time ( as it took us 18 hours to complete) and abilities but we made it back to camp with no mishaps. It was pouring rain the last few hours of our hike which made it a very slow finish. I would say the Knife Edge was far more challenging then I ever imagined and although I am proud to say I did it I will never do it again!
