It’s crazy to have completed this challenge. Almost as crazy as starting it in the first place!

Hot Springs was lovely. I saved the highest point in SD for the end, and I’m glad I did. Each hike prepared me for this one, and the satisfaction of getting to that very windy peak was worth it.

Hammondator came with me, and we headed out just as the sun was rising. Got to the trailhead around 8:30 (it’s quite a drive out of town), and hiked up and jogged down in about 3.5 hours. We saw a couple of other groups hiking, but it was pretty empty and everyone was super nice. There was some snow on the trail at the top, but not enough to need crampons yet. The views are absolutely stunning too.

The trail is maintained really well, and I’d love love to stay at the campground at the trailhead sometime. It was also the only place I’ve seen that has a sign to welcome 6 Pack of Peaks challengers!

Really proud to have completed this challenge, and looking forward to taking a few days before thinking about the next one 🙂
