Did a Sunday hike to Ontario Peak. Didn't think anything would go wrong cause I've done Cucamonga peak last year and made it perfectly fine. Had to think if there would be snow. Didn't think there would be much. When I arrived at 4am with my friend, didn't even feel that cold so I left my crampons in the car thinking there would hardly be any snow.
So we started hiking around 4:30am. It was a lovely hike. The streams were strong from the ice melting and it was soothing to hear. Came across a couple minor waterfalls that were amazing to see.
When we arrived at the saddle, some campers were telling us there was snow up on the mountains but people were able to cross through. So we proceeded to hike and noticed there was alot of snow, lol. We made it to the top, the view was remarkably beautiful of course. Crampons weren't necessary but probably would've helped a bit since my friend and I fell through a hidden snow hole, lol.
Loved the hike over all! Did regret not taking sunscreen though, Haha. Beautiful views! Felt great at the end and it was a beautiful day to hike.
