To cap off my Memorial Day Weekend 2020 I decided that Strawberry Peak would be just the right challenge after having overexerted myself a bit on the Saturday before. Needless to say none of the friends who hiked with me on Saturday were amenable for a Monday hike with me, so I reached out to a different friend 🙂

The trail was just as I remembered it from last year, though I could have sworn that there were MORE false peaks this year. Who needs that many false peaks?? Unlike last year, I had to make sure I got to the trailhead early to secure parking at the Redbox Canyon parking lot is still closed due to Covid-19. I was able to secure one of the last two parking spots available closest to the trail 🙂  This year I remembered to bring gloves for scrambling though it did feel as if my backpack was unnecessarily heavy. Of course I have my 10 Essentials, but I also brought some strawberries and sparkling water to celebrate.  I was a little disappointed that the peak signs were gone, but it was a celebration nonetheless.

With Strawberry Peak completed, I am 1/3 of the way to 18 Peaks!
