Did Mount Wilson on labor day. The day didn't start off great – the sky was very cloudy and it started drizzling even before I got to the trailhead. I got discouraged for a second, as the idea of hiking through constant drizzle didn't sound too appealing, but I decided to push through, as at least I wouldn't be hiking through scorching heat.

Luckily it didn't drizzle the entire hike – but I was under the clouds for most of it. I got to see a hummingbird on the way to the top, which appeared out of nowhere in front of me to check some flowers. And when I got to the last portion of the hike, to the flat forest road, I was able to see the top, just barely getting out of the clouds. I was really lucky that day – I got to enjoy seeing an incredible view from the top, a sea of clouds surrounding the mountain. There were a lot of people at the top who didn't do the hike, but drove there with the hope of getting some good shots of the view. It felt even more rewarding to finish such a hard and long hike with some great scenery.

After I got to the top I also took a walk to the Mount Wilson Observatory, which added 1 more mile roundtrip. My Garmin was showing at the end of it at 15 miles and around 4400 feet elevation.
