My hiking partner had never been to High Point- we started slightly after 6 AM; would have been better to start an hour earlier but *someone* is not quite as much of an early bird as me.  All good though- we made it, ran out of water just before the Oak Grove Trail junction on the way down.  One more bottle of water for my hiking partner would have been better- vivi e impari!  Brought some meats and a cheese from Seattle (recently gifted to me) for the summit- was delicious!  Bugs near and past the junction with Palomar Divide Road were freaking annoying, up and down- they didn't seem to care about the bug spray, but thankfully didn't bite, and were not a nuisance once we got to the final exposed push to the summit.  Went and got hydration from the Aguanga General Store, then delicious Watermelon Sangria and pizza at Goat and Vine in Temecula- my hiking partner was pining desperately for sangria all the hike down from the summit, and it was was fantastic!
