It was a great day, I am so proud of my sweet Palma. She did great. I continue to have her wear doggy hiking boots as I feel it is best for her on the trail. However…… on this particular trail in many places, the hard-packed dry dirt was very slick. She and many people were sliding around. Don't let that stop you though as it is still doable. You can get through the toughest of spots. Just take your time and slow down if needed. My feet and ankles took a beating as much of the trail was rutted out so your feet are not always flat on the ground but rather turned at angles. For me, this was hard on my ankles. It was a great day though and I loved the hike. We lucked out and it was not to hot.
