This was a good day. This trail starts out with a nice gentle uphill incline. Then you get to the switchbacks and it's up, up and more up. The forest is absolutely spectacular. Everything is eye popping green and wildflowers are everywhere. We only encountered 3 people on our weekday hike. The forest was so quiet and peaceful. It was just incredible. At the top the views were outstanding. You can see clear to the Bradshaws to the south and to the Grand Canyon to the north. We found a quiet little spot behind the tower to eat lunch that was awesome. Truly looking forward to doing this one again. Try and get this one done as soon as you can as Kiabab closes their trails when the fire danger (high winds, etc) gets high and it stays closed for quite a while. We wanted to do this trail all summer and still couldn't go even into October due to it being closed.
