What a delicious hike. Seriously my favorite of the four six pack hikes we did this week. Great road going in (we went through Flagstaff) and going out (we took the dirt road through Parks to I-40). No issues with the roads at all.

The hike is just long gradual incline switchbacks to the top where the cabin is. Great trail with a bit of loose rock here and there. Once at the cabin it's more lava rock and technical to the lookout, but still not too bad. We took poles and used them coming down mostly because the winds were so high and we were getting blown around a bit. The wildflowers are incredible. It was a nice cool day for us but if it had been hot, there isn't much shade so be mindful that you'll need sun protection and extra fluids. Definitely can't wait to go back and camp in the area and do this hike again. On my top 5 favorites in AZ!
