Cross 74 and head to right of candy store for
sign marked Bear Canyon (this is where
AllTrails directs you). Lot is US fee area
Hiker registration box at start says you
need San Mateo Canyon wilderness
permit for day or overnight use (didn't
know this).
Moderate not hard. Steep and
narrow last 0.3mi to peak. Not strenuous
going up but a little dicey coming down.Otherwise flat with stretches of slight incline/decline both ways.

Unfortunately it was super cloudy when we got up and couldn’t see anything. But on the way back it started to clear up and we could see a variety of wild flower blooms and neon green vegetation!
