Started the hike at 6:45am from Angelus Oaks. Rain was forecasted at 3pm so I wanted to do the hike before the rain. Definitely overcast at the start. Hiked above the clouds at around 6500’. Trail is in good condition. Not a lot of hikers today. Ran into 3 three people going down and 10 people going up. It was nice to meet a few that are doing the challenge. Had the summit to myself. It was windy which made the temps feel colder. Hiked with a windbreaker and gloves most of the time. On my decent the clouds were gathering and it rained the last mile of my hike. I almost beat the rain. The stats – 16mi, 4700’ gain, 7hrs 40min, 1.5L water, 20oz. electrolytes, and a summit banana.
