We arrived at the trailhead parking(street parking) at about 1245. The sides of the roads were packed with cars. Going up from this route is a short steep hike on a paved road, and today it was “crazy” crowded. We didn't go over to the iconic Potato Chip Rock and instead opted to go to the actual summit (high point). While the we had the pleasure of running into and talking with Coach Dale Hill.
Our descent was uneventful. Still tons of people going in both direction, while cars arriving at the trailhead searched for somewhere to park. If you do this on, I highly recommend doing it from the Ramona side. Start early before the crowds and get to the top to watch the sunrise. The Poway side hikers can't even begin there ascent until 0600 and then they have about 4 miles to travel. You'll most like be gone and down by the time they arrive. 😉
