Summited Mt. Baldy (the highest point in LA) over the weekend.
Our hike begins at Manker Flats/Campground and from that point on it is all uphill with very little flats. Never thought we could all reach the summit given the time crunch and the shenanigans happened that afternoon. I lost count of the breaks we took to catch our breath and had some serious mental fights with myself each time we continued after a brief rest (I'm talking about resting every 10 steps).
Despite all the uphill battles, the views were out of this world and so so proud of the team who made it to the top safely!
Highlight of the trip:
– met an incredible 93 years old man, Don Viejo (his trail name), who just summited the mountain before us. His uplifting energy absolutely raised our spirits to keep going and conquering all hikes in the future with a smile.
