The snow is melting and it’s time to climb the mountains again. There are toilets at the campground. We did the 3-2-1 challenge and hit Mt. Pinos, Sawmill, and Grouse. There were a few snow patches but doable without gear. Trail to Pinos and Sawmill were easy to follow. Trail to Grouse was a little more covered with debris left over from the snow – leaves, pine needles, branches, downed trees. The only down-side to this hike was the noise pollution. Two groups were blasting their music while hiking. Other than that, the views are always beautiful. The stats – 10.5mi, 2039’ elevation gain, 4hrs 40min with breaks, brought 2L water (drank 1L), 20oz. electrolytes, turkey sandwich, and a protein bar. Happy Trails!
