Six months ago, I posted a message on the SoCal Hikers FB page inquiring about the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge. I wrote that I was “nervous” to commit to the challenge but really had a strong desire to do it! So, being the competitor that I am, I said, “Screw it! I’m doing it!” And I never looked back! I challenged myself in ways I didn’t think I could originally succeed at. But failure has NEVER been an option in my head, so I knew I’d overcome no matter how strenuous hikes became! I met an amazing group of hiking misfits- #hikebeyondthehills and an AMAZING leader Philip L. Yoho that I completed these hikes with each time. Each hike provided their own challenges, some of which I was blown away at what I had hiked afterwards. Fast forward….I officially completed my Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge, bagging San Jacinto as my 6th peak! SO MANY memories on these hikes and more importantly, I met some truly amazing people along the way! I feel so proud! So grateful! So accomplished! Most of all, I am grateful for my health and just having the opportunity to do this! Being out in nature on these beautiful trails…there is nothing like it!
