Managed to hike this during a 3-day break in the rain and everything was beautiful. The initial hike up to Rose Peak from Lake Del Valle was strenuous and the first 5 miles felt like 10. But by the time we made the descent into Sunol Regional Wilderness, our weariness was quickly replaced by joy as we crossed flowing stream after flowing stream. The hills were alive and coyotes yelped their roll call in the distance at least twice daily. Finished the backpacking trip atop Mission Peak and began the descent back into civilization.
Fantastic hike through a beautiful park during a perfect part of the year.
