Great hiking day with weather topping out in mid 60's. Winds not bad. Bugs could have been an annoyance but a friend in the group brought us head nets and those were life savers. Otherwise, we would have swatting at gnats a lot. Tress were changing colors giving a great fall vibe with the cooler air. Only saw one other hiker the whole trip. Besides one jet doing a fly by and scaring the #$%@ out of us, it was silent. Loved hearing the wind whistling through the pines. Took a nice long rest at the top and enjoyed the spectacular views. One of my favorites!
