We started the hike early in the morning, bringing along our young puppy. The hike starts near a running creek which you have to cross a few times. The hike starts off with a very slight incline. Most of the elevation gain are in the last half mile. This time of year was extremely beautiful with large fields of wildflowers blooming. The last mile is a bit rough. The recent rains have rutted out the last mile of the trail, making the steep incline a bit more difficult.
My sons favorite part of the hike was the dried pineapple slices we brought. They are now his favorite hiking food!
