Started the hike before 5:30am due to weekend heat wave. There was a fire in the San Bernardino Wilderness started by a gender reveal which closed down trails to our planned summit to San Bernardino Peak. I did not plan to hike Baldy as part of my Six Pack of Peaks since I've summited a few times in the past. My last 2 were to be San Bernardino and San Gorgonio which are currently still closed.
The weather was perfect on the mountains. Started in the dark with beautiful sunrise climbing up Register Ridge. There were only 5 people by the time we got to the summit around 9:30am. I've only climbed up Baldy Bowl and down Devils Backbone but decided to head back down via Baldy Bowl. Glad for the early start due to the heat and the crowd coming up.
