Our day hike to Strawberry peak was a hot one. The trail is full of wildflowers right now and is nice in the morning when it still has a little shade. The day heated up quickly and even though the hike is only 7 miles the sun beat down on us pretty hard most of the day. The one thing about this trail is that you always think you’ve made it to the end on these small peaks on the way there. That tired me out too, I was like, “yay we did it!,.. oh wait” and we went a little more and then a little more. It was fun though and I really enjoyed all the natural foliage and the yellow butterflies at the peak.
