A much awaited break in the rain allowed us to finally venture up Bishop Peak. The lush green hills were so inviting and the water trickling down along the trail in places was a lovely reminder of how this area has thrived with this seasons rainfall.
Rock climbers were out climbing the rock faces and you encounter so many Cal Poly students along your hike. What a great opportunity they have at their disposal with all Bishop Peak has to offer.
The one warning I give is to be sure and be aware of the large amount of poison oak growing throughout. Under the canopy of the trees where it’s shaded, it grows green and lush amongst the rest of the foliage. As you scramble over rocks and boulders it sneakily grows from underneath so watch where you are stepping.
