San Jacinto Peak – 03-31-18 – Trip Report (via Deer Springs trail or Marion Mountain trail). You will encounter a fair amount of ice/slush depending on the time of the day right after the trail intersection of PCT/Marion/Deer Springs. Snow and Ice becomes persistent after Little Round Valley camp ground. The daily thaw/freeze cycle will continue, which means the patches will shrink but I believe on this side of the mountain they will remain for a couple of more weeks. Carrying micro spikes is highly encouraged if you come up from this side. Hike on! Shoutout to Monisha Patel and Tito Branca Jr. who I had the great pleasure to share the trails with for a while.
