First hike for SD Challenge and first time using this trail from highway 67. Going to SD is a little extra effort due to the drive from where I live. With that, I decided to try this trail to cut a little time and hike another peak later. I didn’t realize its existence before but looks like this TH is as busy as coming from the lake. Parking along the highway added another half mile or so total (that’s how far we ended up to park safely).

As it is relatively short, it is steeper, can’t remember if there was a flat area????????. This particular trails offers sporadic shades than the other trail as well as wider (being a fire road), not to worry about having a lot of hikers along the way.

Didn’t spend my time to get in the long line to have a photo-op on top of the rock. Just waited for the transition and got me a photo of the rock with noone on it????
