For my first peak of the challenge, I would say this was a success! This is only my second time hiking Mount Woodson, so I was familiar with the typical crowds, but today was a little bit of a let down with the number of people. That being said, I tried to keep my spirits high and take in the views; as always, they did not disappoint! The clear weather allowed for spectacular views all the way to the ocean. The combination of length, elevation gain, and views make this hike enjoyable every time. I love the “sprinkle” of boulders throughout, and particularly enjoyed the “thumbs up” congratulating me on my descend — picture posted. Overall, I am glad to have one under my belt, and I look forward to tackling the next 5!
